Outer Banks Fishing Report May 23, 2012

The swells have laid down and the water is clearing. Water temp is 65 degrees. We have SW winds.
A few Bluefish scattered up and down from the beaches.

Sound Fishing Report:

The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported lots of throw back Trout.
Good Trout fishing in the Croatan sound.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Plenty of Blues from the end of pier. Small Trout, small Flounder and Sea Mullet
Nags Head: Bluefish and Sea Mullet.
Jennette’s: Bluefish, Flounder, Sea Mullet and some keeper Trout.
Outer Banks: Croaker, Spot, Skate and Sea Mullet.

Inshore Boats Report:
Nearshore boats caught Sea Bass and citation Blues galore
Oregon Inlet headboat caught plenty of Flounder.
There was a 70 lb and an 85 lb Cobia caught. So glad to hear that. There should be good Cobia fishing ahead.

Offshore Boats Report:
Great catches of Gaffer Dolphin and Yellowfin. A Sailfish and Blue Marlin were released.
